If a PC hosts the game you can have upto 16 people. Ingame you have the option of creating and joining upto 4 "farms" on a save. You can have everyone play on one farm, sharing money etc, or you can split up and have multiple farms on the map, and still help eachother if you want.

Every version (DVD, Epic, Steam, Digital Download) can connect to each other, as long as you have the same patch version, and your router ports are open or use UPNP. It is. Either with a dedicated server or you have to open and forward the farming sim ports in your router if you host your own server. There is no steam matchmaking.
Only me, friend 1 & friend 2 could play together, but 3, 4 & 5 could not. BUT 3 and 4 CAN play together, if one hosts it instead, but me, 1, 2 and 5 can't connect. Friend 5 can't connect to anyone, no-one can join him. We tried almost everything now, only thing we didn't try is waiting.. ex. offing firewall, turning off mods, enabling VPN's
