Adjusting 300Tdi valve clearances. I do the valve clearances every 12,000 miles. It doesn't take too long. I use a socket on the crank pulley to rotate the engine and the "rule of 9's" to adjust the correct valve to 0.20mm clearance. I find that the clearances tend to be out on most rocker arms, typically 0.05mm to 0.1mm or so.Oct 27, 2007. #1. Hi All. There is a bit of coolant dripping around that area and it squeeks intermitently so it looks like it's cuffed. So LR manual torque sequence is as follows: 1. All bolts to 40 Nm following sequence. 2. All bolts 60 deg following first sequence. 3. All bolts 60 deg following first sequence. 4. 20 deg on selected bolts different sequence. I would like to pull the head bolts another 5 Nm on the 1st pullso 45 Nm at stage 1.
